    Numerical investigation of afree circular confluent jets

    The free jets issuing from apertures in the same plane in parallel direction have been studied numerically. The Navier-Stokes and energy equations are solved using finite difference primitive variables with a finite- volume (FV) techniques. Different numbers of circular apertures and different distances between the jets with Reynolds numbers up to 3000 were considered. The results show that the decay of maximum axial velocity is decreased with increase of thee number of the apertures. Also the results show that the decay of the closely spaced jets is initially faster than that of widely spaced jets.
