Abstract: This study deals with one of the most important changes that had taken place in Jerusalem through its procession of civilization since the approach of the Egyptian campaign in 1831 until the second Israeli aggression on the city in 1967. The study is titled « Political Renaissance of Jerusalem 1831-1967». The study consists of three parts: The first one is dedicated to discussing the most important factors that affected Jerusalem including the Egyptian campaign, the Ottoman regulations, international concern, the Palestinian national movement, and the unity with Jordan. The second part discusses the bases of its renaissance that were embodied in its strategic location, its deeply-rooted civilized achievements and its architectural progress. The third part discusses the aspects of its political renaissance during the period of our discussion including the three supremacy institutions represented by the government house, the radio station, and the international airport, in addition to what it witnessed of events related to political movements and developments in services that distinguish capital cities from other cities.
