The process of freezing of sessile water droplets on polycarbonate surface was investigated.Freezing of water droplets on a solid surface is a nucleation and crystal growth process and commonly occurs via heterogeneous nucleation .The growth of freezing front is initiated from bottom of the droplet and gradually is reached to top of the droplet. Heat transfer occurs through the formed ice layer. It was found that initially due to small thickness of ice layer, heat transfer rate was fast and when the thickness of the ice layer became greater, heat transfer rate was decreased. Also the droplet was deformed at the top during freezing due to the different specific volumes of ice and water.
