Spatial Analysis of hospitals in the city of Mashhad using network analyst model ( Arc GIS )

Today living in cities is more dependant on services than any other period in human life due to the complicated physical-spatial structure of relationships and socio-economic activities، deepening and expansion of social and economic division of Labour and growing cultural،recreational and social necessities of city-dwellers. Services that are Realted to the individual health and medical needs of citizens make up a part of these services and are provided to them by hospitals or other medical clinics that are situated in cities. This present article is descriptive-analytic of applied type in which the issue of hospitals spatial analysis in the city of Mashhad has been examined.it must be noted that arc GIS software and network analyst model are also used in it. the findings of current paper indicates that hospitals are mostly concentrated in the eighth zone of Mashhad City while 5th,11th and 12,th zones do not have any hospitals at all. Moreover, Samen and 8th zones provide most access to hospitals in Mashhad and the best hospital in terms of providing necessary services and accessibility to the center of city zones is located in Samen zone.
