Simple additive weighting (SAW) method with triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs) in supplier ranking

Abstract: The intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) is a suitable way to deal whit vagueness and description of fuzziness and uncertainty and can be used for dealing with uncertainty in multi criteria decision making (MCDM) problems. In this paper we present a new method for solving MCDM problems in an intuitionistic fuzzy environment. Simple additive weighting (SAW) method was used as a MCDM method in which weight of each evaluation criterion and rating of each alternative whit respect to criteria are considered as triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFN). Our proposed model is applied in a supplier ranking and selection problem with an example.
