This paper presents an approach for 3D computational modeling of C.T scan images from asphalt samples, composed of three different phases (aggregates, asphalt mastic, air void).
The 3D microstructure of the asphalt concrete is reconstructed from slices of tow dimensional X-ray images that consist of the matrix and the aggregate phases and voids. The outputs resulting from these images are merged with the experimental measurements of asphalt mixture , under an expert system based on image processing .The results shows a good relation between properties derived from image processing and laboratorial compaction of asphalt samples .This algorithm is robust and present reliable and repeatable consequences that enable us to product new model toward NDT test realm
