Abstract-Device-to-Device (D2D) communication is one of the technologies to solve the challenge of limited spectrum frequency against the increasing demand for wireless data services. This paper proposes a game theoretic approach for underlay D2D communication, which reuses the spectrum of a cellular system. In this game, the base station as an auctioneer penalizes a D2D pair with a shadowing price for the transmit power. Considering this price and the corresponding cost for power transmission, the D2D pair optimizes the transmit power in order to maximize its own transmit rate. The simulation results demonstrate the convergence of the proposed game under the assumption of unknown interference channel gains.
