In this paper, the operating behavior of a solar-powered adsorption cooling system is investigated. To this end, at the first step, the cooling load of a typical single-family house is simulated using the eQUEST software. The simulated cooling load is used to calculate required heat for a certain coefficient of performance (COP). After that, according to the given solar radiation and climate conditions in Isfahan city, the adsorption system is mathematically formulated. Finally, a figure of merit (FoM) is proposed to evaluate cost efficiency and eco-friendliness of a typical solar adsorption cooling system.
