Various methods, approaches, and techniques are used in the process of English language teaching. One of the most important techniques which plays an important role in this process is translation. Many research studies have been done to investigate this vital role. Almost all of them confirm that translation has a positive and important effect on learning English language. However, there is not a comprehensive study gathering the findings of those research projects and listing the best ways of using translation in English classes. Therefore, this study aims to examine those aforementioned studies, list their findings, and suggest some of the most effective ways of utilizing translation in English language classes. The findings of this research focus on the suitable time, place, and ways of using this technique. Different age groups are also considered in the findings and solutions which are suggested
