As a matter of fact, literature serves to be a good teaching material owing to its combination of practical language usage and inspiration of mind. The teacher s role changes from being in front of the learners doing most ofthe talking to becoming a facilitator who guides learner sLearning in both academic and social realm (Jones,et al., 1994).Such new views of learning have no room in teaching EFL in our classrooms especially in Ilam schools. Iranian students poor command of the English language in Ilam from bothCareer viewpoint and that of academic is a matter of concern inand around Iran education system. For this reason,the researcher has done an experimental research to show the impact of deployment of literature and literary genre as materials of methodology of EFL with regard to gender on Iranian Guidance students` performance on summative achievement tests.
