چكيده فارسي :
ويدئوكاوي، فرآيندي است كه نه تنها مي تواند به طور خودكار محتوا و ساختار ويدئو، ويژگي‌هاي اشياء متحرك و رابطه‌ي فضايي يا زماني آن ويژگي‌ها را استخراج كند، بلكه مي‌تواند الگوهاي ساختار ويدئو، فعاليت‌هاي اشياء، رخدادهاي ويدئو و غيره را نيز از داده‌هاي ويدئويي حجيم كشف كند. به عبارتي ديگر، وظيفه‌ي كاوش داده‌ي ويدئو، استفاده از ويژگي‌هاي استخراج شده براي يافتن الگوهاي ساختاري محتواهاي ويدئويي، الگوهاي رفتاري اشياء متحرك، خصوصيات محتواي يك صحنه، الگوهاي رخدادها و وابستگي‌هاي آن‌ها و ديگر دانش‌هاي معنايي ويدئو براي دستيابي به برنامه‌هاي كاربردي هوشمند ويدئويي، از قبيل بازيابي ويدئو مي‌باشد. در اين مقاله سعي شده است تعاريف و حوزه هاي مرتبط با ويدئوكاوي بيان شود و تحقيقات انجام شده در اين حوزه مورد بررسي قرار گيرد. به اين صورت كه پس از معرفي اجمالي كشف دانش در پايگاه داده‌ها و داده‌كاوي، تعاريف و روش‌هاي ويدئوكاوي با جزئيات بيشتر ارائه شده است. به اين ترتيب، فضاي كلي تحقيقات كاربردي در زمينه‌ي ويدئوكاوي و برخي چالش‌هاي آن ترسيم خواهد شد.

Video mining is a process which can not only automatically extract content and structure of video, features of moving objects, spatial or temporal correlations of those features, but also discover patterns of video structure, objects activities, video events, etc. from vast amounts of video data without little assumption about their contents. In other words, the task of mining video data is using the extracted features to find structural patterns of video contents, behavior patterns of moving objects, the characteristics of the content of a scene, the patterns of events and their dependencies, and other semantic knowledge of video to achieve video intelligent applications such as video retrieval. In this paper, the definitions and fields related to video mining have been expressed and the researches in this area have been investigated. In this way, after a brief introduction of Knowledge Discovery in Databases and Data Mining, the definitions and methods of Video Mining have been presented in more details. Thus, the overall space of applied researches in the field of video mining and some of its challenges will be drawn.
