Let S be a ring with identity in which 2 is invertible and let R=H(S) be the quaternion ring over S. In this paper, we investigate commuting maps on R and show that every commuting map f on such rings is of
(the form f(x) = bx+\mu(x), where b∈Z(R)
and mu is an additive map from R to its center.
