در دنياي امروزي بيشتر از زمان هاي قبل مديران در زمينه آگاهي از اطلاعات و داده ها مربوطه به وضعيت فعاليت هاي درون سازماني و برون سازماني كنجكاو كرده است. سيستم هاي اطلاعاتي موجود در ادارات يكي از عوامل موثر در بهبود نظام تصميم گيري مديران در مسير رسيدن به هدف سازمان به شمار مي آيد كه مي تواند ضمن ايجاد امكان تصميم گيري هاي مناسب به عنوان پشتيبان تصميمات آنها نير مورد استفاده مي باشد. مديران مي توانند با استفاده از اين اطلاعات، چگونگي اثربخشي تصميمات و فعاليت هاي سازماني را كنترل كنند و با برنامه ريزي و تصميم هاي به موقع، بر توانمند كردن سازمان خود بي افزايند. از اين رو تحقيق حاضر نيز با درك اهميت و ضرورت تحقيق كه اكنون سيستم هاي اطلاعاتي نوين در بهبود كيفيت تصميم گيري مديران ايفاي نقش مي كند، شكل گرفته و هدف آن بررسي نقش فناوري و سيستم هاي اطلاعاتي در ارتقاء سطح تصميم گيري مديران ادارات مي باشد. بنابراين، از آنجايي كه، ادارات دولتي به عنوان بستر و رهنمود ايجاد توسعه و پيشرفت هر كشوري محسوب مي شود. داشتن اطلاعات دقيق ، مرتبط و به هنگام و سريع، باعث بالا رفتن سرعت و دقت تصميم گيري مديران شده و جلوي انتخاب بسياري از تصميمات نادرست را خواهد گرفت. نتايج اين تحقيق نيز نشان داد كه سيستم اطلاعات تأثيري مستقيم بر تصميم گيري مديران دارند كه مي بايست اين نگرش خردمندانه مدنظر قرار گيرد كه ساز و كارهاي عملكردي استفاده از سيستم هاي اطلاعاتي در تصميم گيري در سطوح مختلف مديريتي عملياتي گردد، تا بتوان به ارتقاء سطح تصميم گيري ها دست يافت.
