Porter`s public strategies connote that cost management, distinction and focus to reach sounder understanding of customer`s needs and competitive advantage, are of utmost importance for companies. The aim of the present study was to apply the optimal model of reaching competitive advantage to exporting sport shoes industry based on Porter competitive strategy of West and East Azerbaijan employees and salespersons’ points of view. A total of 155 persons was selected using Krejcie and Morgan table. They were required to complete the researcher developed questionnaire concerning focus, costs and distinction. To analyze data t-test, MANOVA were used. Results showed that among three strategies of Porter, cost strategy was found to be the most important determiner followed by distinction strategy. Focus strategy was found to be of no benefit for reaching competitive advantage in sport shoes market. Moreover, a significant difference was found between the opinions of people of the two provinces in terms of level of income and spatial position. It seems that all of the three mentioned approaches should be used as a solution by producers and salespeople for promoting sport shoes industry.
