با توجه به اينكه پديده كودكان خياباني به عنوان معضلي در شهرها و كلان شهرهاي جوامع معاصر مطرح مي شود. در صورت فقدان مراكزي براي نگهداري اين كودكان در معرض رها شدن و روي آوردن به كار و زندگي خياباني و عوارض منفي و خطرات ناشي از آن از قبيل خشونت بهره كشي، بزه ديدگي، بزهكاري و انحرافات اجتماعي قرار مي گيرند. با توجه به علت غايي آثار معماري كه همانا تحقق بخشيدن به نيازهاي انساني مي باشد به راحتي مي توان نتيجه گرفت كه هر چه معماري در برآوردن نيازهاي اين كودكان كه براي رفع آنها ساخته شده توانايي بيشتري داشته باشد ، اين معماري مي تواند براي رسيدن به اهداف خود كه همانا در از ميان برداشتن اين معضل اجتماعي است موفق تر باشد. از آنجايي كه اين گروه از كودكان از امكانات اجتماعي لازم مانند تحصيل و بهداشت و ديگر خدمات محروم مي باشند. فرض بر اين است كه آموزش هاي مناسب مي تواند در شكل پذيري شخصيت آنها گامي موثر برداردو به آنها فرصت انتخاب براي زندگي بهتر را بدهد. در پژوهش حاضر به بررسي تاثير فضاهاي آموزشيكودكان خياباني بر سلامت محيط شهري پرداخته شده است.
