يكي از موضوعات گريبان گير شهرهاي امروز، ناهم‏خواني نماهاي جديد در مناطق مجاور با بافت‏هاي تاريخي است. نماي بيروني بناهاي شهري در زمان طولاني و براثر روند ساخت‌وسازهاي متوالي در شهر شكل مي‏گيرند، درواقع، تاريخ معماري و شهرسازي شهرها هيچ‏گاه به دوره خاصي تعلق نداشته و شهر محصول دوره‏هاي تاريخي متعدد است، معماري امروز ما نيز در آينده بخشي از تاريخ شهرها را تشكيل خواهد داد. امروزه ساخت‌وسازهاي جديد و ناهماهنگ، باعث بروز بي‏نظمي و اغتشاش در نماي خيابان‏هاي تاريخي شده است. هدف اين پژوهش بررسي و ارائه راهكارهاي طراحي جداره‌ها و نماي ساختمان‏هاي جديد به‌منظور ايجاد هماهنگي با بافت‏هاي تاريخي است. بر اساس مطالعات نگارنده تاكنون منابع اندكي به موضوع جداره‏هاي شهري در مناطق تاريخي پرداخته‏اند و هنوز تعريف دقيقي از مفاهيم مربوط به حوزه كاربردي نماسازي در بافت تاريخي ارائه نشده است كه بر اساس آن بتوان فعاليت‌هاي صورت گرفته را مورد تحليل قرار داد و راهكارهايي عرضه داشت.روش اين پژوهش توصيفي- تحليلي است. با بررسي‏هاي كتابخانه‏اي و ميداني ، شناخت كلي به دست آمد و مشخص شد، ارائه الگويي مناسب و هماهنگ با بافت تاريخي كه روح زمان حال را القا كند مي‏تواند باعث ساماندهي نماهاي شهري در بافت‏هاي تاريخي شود.
