واحد همسايگي؛ شامل خانه هاي مسكوني با محيط پيراموني آن است كه در كنار هم يك كليت منسجم پيوسته را، تشكيل مي دهند و داراي يك هويت جمعي و محله اي است، اين هويت جمعي در واحد همسايگي باعث ايجاد رشد و پويايي جمعي، افزايش ارتباطات اجتماعي و احساس همبستگي اجتماعي مي شود.، واحدهاي همسايگي از مقياس ريز (دو خانه) ، متوسط (دو بلوك يا چند خانه) و كلان ( چند بلوك يا دو محله) تشكيل شده است. يكي از مسائل مهم در واحد همسايگي طراحي و چيدمان خانه ها، بلوك ها و محله در جهت ارتقاي تعاملات جمعي همسايه ها مي باشد كه نقش اساسي در روابط اجتماعي مردم ايفا مي كند و در نتيجه، طراحي صحيح در واحد همسايگي باعث به وجود آمدن توسعه پايدار خواهد شد، كه در پژوهش حاضر به آن پرداخته شده است. در ابتدا با انجام مطالعات ميداني بر روي نمونه موردي؛ مسكن مهر بهاران در منطقه 3 سنندج، بافت اجتماعي و روابط ميان ساكنان، در واحدهاي همسايگي بررسي شد. سپس نتايج پرسشنامه ها مورد تحليل و بررسي قرار گرفت.
