Nowadays, energy is one of the most expensive factors in the country s
industry. It is possible to optimize energy consumption by increasing
efficiency of industrial equipment such as furnaces, boilers and etc. By
decreasing sedimentation. One of the most important modern cleaning
methods is acoustic cleaning method which compared to other methods has
more merits and advantages. One of the most important reasons of the break
down and failure of sonic soot blowers is fracture and early failure of the
diaphragms. Earlier in a research by the NRI, the diaphragms used to begin to
crash quickly. Based upon the failure analysis by SEM, it is suggested to
design a gap between the diaphragm and the chamber in order to solve this
problem. The obtained stress distribution from FEM software is applied to
lifetime using fatigue S-N diagram and equations. The result of different gaps
could help us to have the best design which will be used to manufacture a
laboratory sonic soot blower.
