Heterogenization of homogeneous catalysts has been an interesting area of research from the industrial point ofview; this combines the advantages of homogeneous catalysts (high activity and selectivity, etc.) with the engineering advantages of heterogeneous catalysts (easy catalyst separation, long catalytic life, easy catalyst regenerability, thermal stability and recyclability) [1]. In this present work, we wish to report a new green approach for the synthesis of2-aryl-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones throughcyclocondensation of 2- aminobenzamide with aromatic aldehydesand Knoevenagel condensation reactions using MNPs-OSO3H as catalyst (Figure 1,2).
