Synthesis a New series of Quinazolines

Quinazolines are a classof fused heterocyclic compounds that are of considerable interest because of the diverse range of their biological properties [1]. Many substituted quinazoline derivatives possess a wide range of bioactivities such as antimalarial, anticancer, antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, antiprotozoan, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, muscle relaxant, antitubercular,antidepressant, anticonvulsant, acaricidal, weedicide, and many other biological activities. Quinazoline compounds are also used in preparation of various functional materials for synthetic chemistry and also present in various drugs molecules [2]. In this work we reported the synthesis of new quinazoline derivatives from (Z)-2-amino- N -phenylbenzimidamideand ninhydrin in ethanol as a solventat ambient temperature for 30 min. The product was identified by IR, 1H- NMR, 13C-NMR data.
