Synthesis, characterization and structural study of a new rigid cyclophane

Cyclophanes play an important role in ―host–guest‖ chemistry andsupramolecular assembly. Stilbenophanes, cyclophanes containing stilbene moieties,are interesting classes of macrocyclic hosts, whichcan be used as platforms for the design of supramolecularsystems. In continuation of our investigation on stilbenophanes[1–2], herein, we report the synthesis, structure of a new stilbenophaneand its complexationbehavior.
