In recent decades, One-Pot multicomponent reactions are known as important and
environmentally benign processes in synthetic chemistry because they decrease the number of
steps and reduce energy consumption and waste production [1].Pyrimidine and its derivatives
constitute an important class of natural and synthetic products that possess significant
biological and pharmaceutical properties [2]In particular, functionalized pyrimidinessuch as
fused pyrimidinones with an arylidene part are essential heterocyclic motifs in antitumor
agents. Regarding the importance of arylideneheterobicyclicpyrimidinonesand the great need
for environmentally benign chemical productions, the development of suitable green synthetic
methods for these compounds has attracted considerable interest.
Recently, more attention has been paid to the application of solid acids in organic synthesis
because of many advantages such as their easy handling and separation, reducing reactor
corrosion problems and environmentally safe disposal [3]. So, herein we report a new,
convenient, mild, andefficient procedure for One-Pot , three-component synthesis of
pyrimidine derivativesin the presencenanosilica boron sulfuric acid (NSBSA) as an effective
solid acid catalyst under solvent-freeconditions.
