Synthesis and characterization of new derivative of azo calixarene as effective antibacterial compound

Azocalix[4]arenes are a series of calixarene derivatives which have one or more of azo units on upper rim. The literature review of calixarenes shows that functionalized calixarene with azo group can be increase antibacterial behaviour of final macrocycle. In this work, our strategy consist of synthesis of azocalixarenes new derivatives by 2, 6-diamino pyridine and study of antibacterial effect of it. Obtained compound has been charecterized by ¹H-NMR, 13C- NMR and FT-IR. The antibacterial behaviour of azocalixarene (5) have been studied. Scheme 1 illustrated the synthetic strategy of azocalixarene derivative (5).
