Sumatriptan succinate is an antimigraine drug. The present investigation was undertaken with the objective of formulating Sumatriptan succinate fast dissolving oral thin films allowing drug dissolution in oral cavity thus bypassing first pass metabolism, to enhance the convenience and compliance by the elderly and pediatric patients. In the present study, Sumatriptan succinate fast dissolving films were formulated by solvent-casting method containing HPMC E6 and NACMC as polymer, Glycerin, PEG 400, Sorbitol as plasticizer and Aspartame as sweetener. six formulations were showing approximately 15-75% drug release after 2 min that the formulation containing sorbitol was showed faster release rate.
