The mechanical earth model is the core of any geomechanical analysis, and as such, drives the accuracy of all subsequent rock mechanic answer products. The MEM consists in integrating data from various sources into a model that provides the rock mechanical attributes of a formation. It is fundamentally comprised of elastic properties, rock strength, pore pressure, as well as the in-situ stress magnitudes and direction. In this paper, at first, a 1D geomechanical model has been constructed. Magnitudes of stresses are calibrated by using the results of XLOT test and failure analysis which is performed with Mohr-Coulomb and Mogi-Coulomb failure criteria. The results show that performance of Mogi-Coulomb criterion in prediction of actual failures is better than Mohr-Coulomb criterion
