Demands for deploying large-scale Low power and Lossy Networks (LLN) are growing these days.Internet of Things(IoT) refers to such networks that are communicating over Internet Protocol(IP). Routing Protocol for Low power and Lossy Networks(RPL)is standard routing protocol for such networks which has been exposed to a variety of attacks.Previous works have addressed those attacks, however each study has focused on a single attack. In this work, we study Sinkholeand CloneID attacks in-depth and analyze them from traffic point of view. Afterwards, we propose a hybrid attack that is based on a combination of these two attacks named Sink-Clone attack.The paper demonstrates the effect of this hybridattack on RPL performance and compares it to Sinkholeand CloneID via implementing these attacks in Contiki operating system on Cooja simulator.Simulation results show that Sink-Clone has more significant impacts on the performance of RPL
