In this work, a simple, clean and highly efficient has been developed for the synthesis of bis(indolyl)methanes by the reaction of indole with different aldehydes in the presence of solid acid catalyst Bamboo under solvent free conditions. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Some of advantages of this process are high yields, short reaction times, easy work-up, solvent-ness media, low cost and reusability of the catalyst.
