Photocatalytic degradation of pollutants based on semiconductor quantum dots (QDs), which utilize the solar energy can be used for wastewater purification methods. In this article, the CdS QDs/SBA-15 nanocomposites were prepared and were studied as adsorbents for removal of Alizarin from aqueous solution. Then, the photocatalytic efficiency of prepared nanocomposites was also studied for degradation of alizarin dye in laboratorian and real samples, under sunlight irradiation. Results were shown that the proposed method is an attractive process for degradation and decolorization of dyes in the textile industry wastewater.
