The solubility of methane, ethane and propane in aqueous mixtures containing (1.00 to 3.00) mol/L N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) was measured at temperatures (298.2, 313.2, and 343.2) K and pressures up to 4.00 MPa. The data were incorporated into a thermodynamic model, which uses a form of Henry’s law for the aqueous phase and an equation of state for the non-aqueous phase. The solubility of the hydrocarbons in the aqueous solutions has been correlated by a generalized Setchenow equation.
