Alkene / alkane separation is the most expensive stage in the process of ethylene producing. Adsorptive separation with porous solid adsorbents is an alternative way to currently used cryogenic distillation process. In this work by GCMC simulation we investigate ethane and ethylene adsorption in two isoreticular structures of MOF-74 with different pore size. Adsorption isotherms of pure components and selectivity of binary ethylene/ethane mixtures in pressure fixed at 1 bar and variable composition determined in 318 K. IRMOF-1 has higher uptake than IRMOF-2 over the entire pressure range.
