Investigation of Lexico-grammar Error(s) in Google Translate Persian into English from Halliday s SFG (Verbal and Existential Processes)

Since Halliday s SFG can represent a fruitful instrument for text analysis and for the production of a new text in a target language, and English and Persian have different constituency parameters, transitivity system and syntactical typology which can make significant errors in translation processes, this research plans to investigate lexico-grammar errors in Google Translate through SFG. The errors in these clauses are evaluated by a new translation evaluation model of HAR, designed by the authors. In this model, 12 error codes have been systemically designed. The errors with the codes of one to six are directly related to textual and experiential metafunctions, and are accordingly considered as heavier errors. The existential and verbal processes of English and Persian have been different in their transitivity system, syntactical typology and constituency order. These differences in the existential process in contrast to the verbal process did not make much considerable errors.
