Distributed Generation (DG) technology has drawn increasing attention for benefits to customers, utilities and the environment. In this paper, a gas engine coupled with brushless synchronous generator as distributed Generation (DG), connected to power network is modeled and simulated. The goal of this paper is studying the effects of the torsional modes in gas engine cylinder bust event during connection to power grid. The simulation is carried out in MATLAB software. Simulation results verify well consistent between modeling study and cylinder bust in gas engines.
