افزايش روز افزون نقش انرژي الكتريكي در توسعه اقتصادي و ارتقاي سطح زندگي جوامع بشري امري انكار ناپذير مي باشد، لذا شناخت انواع نيروگاه هاي توليد برق و منابع اوليه انرژي در دسترس و مناسب براي استفاده در فرآيند توليد برق براي همگان حائز اهميت مي باشد. با توجه به نياز روز افزون بشر به انرژي و محدوديت در منابع سوخت فسيلي و همچنين رو به اتمام بودن اين منابع در جهان، بشر را مجبور به چاره انديشي براي تأمين اين كمبود نموده است. اين چاره انديشي بر دو نوع اصلاح الگوي مصرف و استفاده از انرژي هاي نو به عنوان انرژي جايگزين سوخت هاي فسيلي تقسيم بندي مي شود. در اين مقاله به بررسي انواع نيروگاه هاي جزر و مدي پرداخته مي شود و با معرفي نمودن روش هاي نوين استحصال انرژي از جزر و مد، قابليت و توانايي استفاده از اين روش ها را جهت بهره برداري بيشتر از منابع آبي كم بهره و بي بهره با در نظر گرفتن خسارات محيط زيستي كمتر ارائه مي گردد.

The ever growing role of electric energy in the economic development and the improvement life level of human communities is now an undeniable reality. Therefore, it is of great importance for everyone to be familiar with various electricity plants and the basic sources of energy at hand which are suitable for the production of energy. Besides, the increasing need of energy consumptions for humans and the limitations of the fossil fuel sources as well as the gradual decline of such sources in the world has made man to seriously consider a replacement for the shortage of these sources. This consideration is dealt with under two subcategories; the modification of the consumption patterns and the using of newer energies as substitute energies for fossil fuels.
