In this study a new wind power generation system known as INVELOX is investigated as an alternative approach for the conventional wind turbines. INVELOX has many advantages in comparison with the conventional wind turbines. Preparing an appropriate numerical simulation for this system is a quite demanding purpose due to the interaction between wind flow and the intricate turbine geometry. A full structured 3d grid is applied for the Numerical simulation. In the first step, the numerical simulation is validated using the experimental data. Afterwards, the performance of the INVELOX is investigated by employing the numerical simulation as a function of wind speed. Furthermore, the effect of venturi configurations on the system operation is obtained for two different diameters. The results revealed that, the INVELOX has an approximately constant trend of performance by increasing the wind velocity as well as the possibility to increase energy harvest by decreasing the throat area.
