چكيده فارسي :
In this study, a recently developed eddy viscosity model called anisotropic minimum-dissipation (AMD) model is applied as an alternative method for the Smagorinsky model. AMD belongs to the minimum dissipation type of the subgrid scale models which showed numerous advantages compared to the Smagorinsky model, e.g., less computational cost, switching off in laminar flows, and its consistency with the exact subfilter stress tensor on both isotropic and anisotropic grids. In this study, AMD model is developed for anisotropic grids to be applied to the OpenFOAM CFD tool box as an open source programming software. The validation of the code is accessed by simulating a turbulent channel flow using an appropriate computational grid. The accuracy of the AMD model is compared with the Smagorinsky models showing that the obtained results are in very suitable agreement with the direct numerical simulation (DNS) results. :
