Since the vehicles have been equipped with an air conditioning system, vapor compression refrigeration method has been used. Also a lot of engine power is consumed to set up the compressor of this system. So the fuel consumption would be increased. This leads to reduction of vehicle efficiency. But if absorption refrigeration which uses exhaust heat of engine would be replaced to the compression refrigeration, the power consumed for the compressor would be eliminated. Indeed, less heat would be excreted into the environment.
In this paper Comparison between vapor compression refrigeration method and absorption refrigeration is conducted. Afterwards by simulation of the absorption refrigeration cycle in EES software, Coefficient of performance under changing various parameters such as temperature and flow rate of the exhaust emissions are studied.
