Particle transport and manipulation by making a thermal gradient in gaseous media, has been the case of many studies in the past decades. However, there are limited studies concerning liquid as working fluid. In this paper, the migration velocity of micro particles in liquid is presented analytically by making a thermal gradient induced via laser beam. Also a comparison is made between the presented models to assess the validate model in calculation of thermal diffusivity and thermophoretic velocity, that showed Brenner model is more accurate. The suggested model can be used as a tool for modeling of thermophoresis and related parametric studies, covering a wide range of liquids and particles.
