In the present work, we prepared Pd doped SnO2/ reduced graphene oxide(rGO) nanocomposite by a facile hydrothermal method. The synthesized powder characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The performance of sensor was tested at various concentration of methane(CH4) gas ranges from 800 ppm to 4000 ppm at room temperature. The fabricated sensor showed decrease in its electrical resistance with CH4 concentration increase. The presence of Pd and graphene can help to increase the composite sensitivity at room temperature. It is found that Pd doped SnO2/ rGO exhibits 2.07% sensitivity toward 4000 ppm methane concentration at room temperature. The sensor shows an average response time of 10 min.
