This paper mainly aims at introducing a novel structure for achieving a broadband and compact bandstop filter (BSF) based on utilizing a combination of double spiral defective microstrip structure (DSDMS) and complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs). A parametric study has been carried out and the overall bandwidth is enhanced by cascading hybridbandstop filter(H-BSF) with different parameters. This filter can be used to improve port to port isolation of a dual-frequency orthogonally polarized, microstrip fed, patch antenna. All simulations are done by high frequency structure simulator(HFSS v13) and then the results imported and plotted with external graphical tools.
