In this paper an algorithm of designing continuous time delta-sigma (CT ∆Σ) modulators is presented. The proposed algorithm is based on computing the coefficients of loop filter while the amplifiers have finite gain-band-width (GBW). A 3rd order CT modulator with 20 MHz signal bandwidth has been designed as a case study. With some mathematical formulas in MAPLE and MATLAB, a robust procedure has been developed to achieve optimum design for saving power consumption and reducing chip area, while the modulator is stable with respect to variations due to temperature and fabrication process. Simulation results show that the specifications of designed modulators are close to the ideal ones
