Nowadays heavy metal pollutants have become one of the most serious environmental problems. So, removal of heavy metals from the environment is of great concern [1]. Lead is ubiquitous in the environment and is hazardous at high levels. Lead cations accumulates mainly in bones, brain, kidney and muscles and may cause many serious disorders like anaemia, kidney disease, nervous disorders and and etc[2].In the present study, batch experiments were used to test the ability of Natural Bitumen for removal of lead cation from wastewater. In this way, effect of various parameters such as pH, adsorbent dosage, adsorbate concentration and contact time were explored on removal of this metal ions. Also Langmuir, Freundlich, Tempkin and Dubinin Radushkevich isotherms were used to verify the adsorption performance. Moreover, Elovich, Pseudo-first order, Pseudo -second order and Intraparticle diffusion models have been provided for kinetic studies. Results show that Natural Bitumens have high performance to remove lead (II) cation in aqueous media. Adsorption equilibrium studies show that adsorption process follow langmuir isotherm model and kinetic studies show that Pseudo -second order equatuion is the suitable model.
