Herein, we report synergistic effect of amorphous binary metal oxide nanostructure in the performance of layered double hydroxide as an electrode material in supercapacitors. Binary metal oxide/layered double hydroxide composite is fabricated by a co-precipitation method. The synthesized nanocomposites were characterized with powder X-ray diffraction, FT-IR and SEM images. By using a three-electrode system, the electrochemical performances of the composites were investigated to evaluate their potential as electrode materials to be used in pseudo capacitor devices. The synthesized novel nanocomposites demonstrate excellent electrochemical behavior against pristine LDH [1-4]. As electrode material for supercapacitors, the composite shows a maximum specific capacitance of 215 F g−1 at low current density of 1 A g−1.
