Introduction: environment because they are not analyzed and heavy metals are one of the mout poisonous pollutants in the causing disease, mutation and entering into the food chain [1]. In past years, various physical and chemical methods were evaluated and tested to remove heavy metals, but most of them happen to be tough or hazardous, complex, incomplete, expensive moreover requiring lot of energy. Today the use of bio sorbents for the treatment of materials is highly regarded due to economic and environmental sustainability [2]. The aim of this study is to evaluate the rate of heavy metal cadmium absorption by the biomass ginger.In this study, which is conducted in laboratory scale, first, the ginger powder was prepared in several stages. Then cadmium removal efficiency was determined by varying factors under different conditions including pH, contact time, initial concentration of ion and adsorbent dosage. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were evaluated.The results show that the maximum amount of biomass removed by Ginger cadmium is in optimum conditions for pH 4, 60 minutes contact time, initial concentration of 20 ppm and adsorbent dosage is 2 g. The best chrome adsorption isotherm was determined for Freundlich model. .The experimental data was tested using different isotherms and their parameter were determined. The results indicate that ginger biomass can be used as a suitable absorbent for removing cadmium from aqueous solution. Sample solution pH and the amount of bio sorbents are two factors which have the greatest effect on the efficiency of extraction.
