In this work, mid-infrared spectroscopy was used for quantitative analysis of ZSM-5 zeolite and binary mixtures of this zeolite containing mesopores and micropores [1]. 11 samples of ZSM-5 zeolite have been prepared with different pore sizes. The size of the micro and meso pores were measured using BET method as the reference method [2]. Then MIR spectrum of the samples were taken and the data processing methods including MSC, PLS, and NMF were conducted [3]. The modeling of pore volume was performed using PLS1 multivariate data regression technique and the calibration curve of the pore volume is plotted. Prediction residual sums of squares (PRESS) was used for choosing PLS factor which was calculated by the cross-validation strategy. Spectral properties and optimization were performed by the NMF-ALS method. The results show that the IR spectrometry can be used to analyze the pore volume in a ZSM-5 catalyst as well as its various mixtures.
