Thermal batteries are used because of high current density, long life and high reliability as a source of electrical current. Today, these types of batteries are widely used to provide the required electrical current in military equipment and armaments[1].In this paper, the use of NanoFoils is proposed as a new thermal source. NanoFoils produce heat-reactive reactions without releasing gas. NanoFoils are often used for welding and soldering as a thermal source. Therefore, according to their characteristics, they can be a good alternative to pyrotechnic materials used in thermal batteries[2].The conventional method for the preparation of NanoFoils is the use of a sputtering technique, but given the fact that sputtering devices are expensive and scarce, this research, works on the provision of Nickel-Aluminum NanoFoil as a new thermal source using nickel plating on aluminum[3]. Here, nickel plating was performed on a very thin aluminum foil and then burned using an electric current, the heat generated by this reaction could easily melt the solid electrolyte of the thermal batteries and provide the necessary electrical current for the circuits needed[4]. Despite the problems of nickel plating on aluminum, we have been using a special plating bath here, but this method is more cost effective and easier to use than the Sputuring method because plating products and materials are easily found in all chemical labs.
