Ammonium ions are the primary form of wide spread nitrogen pollution in the hydrosphere. Ammonium increase of oxygen demand and biological eutrophication in local by aquatic. For example, ammonia is toxic to fish and other forms of aquatic life in very low concentration, about 0.2 mg/L. Thus the major concern guarding ammonia toxicity, must be in aquatic systems, particularly in regions of high human habitation and or large numbers of farm animals.[1] Ammonium ions wastewater pollution has become one of the most serious environmental problems today. The treatment of ammonium ions is a special concern due to their recalcitrance and persistence in the environment .In recent years; various methods for ammonium ion removal from wastewater have been extensively studied. [2-3]. In this study, we investigate the use of ammonia removal from wastewater of Imam Khomeini oil refinery by magnetic nano composite natural zeolite of semnan area. Comparison of ammonia removal by natural zeolite, magnetic zeolite, magnetic zeolite modified by PM polymer is done and results show that magnetic zeolite modified by PM polymer is better than magnetite, natural zeolite and magnetic zeolite.. The effect of initial ammonia concentration, the amount of zeolite, time, pH, stirring vigorously, the temperature and the particle size Zeolite were studied. The Box-benken design was used for method optimization.
