Lead is one of the heavy metals with toxic effects for humans and the environment Direct contact with this metal is hazardous and in people who eat orally lead-contaminated substances, such as addicts who use lead-infected drugs, cause poisoning. Therefore, for the correct treatment of lead-induced people, it is very important for physicians to quickly get results and report these results so that a high percentage of the nervous and gastrointestinal complications of this poisoning can be reduced. In this study, measurements of lead blood levels in patients referred to Sina Hospital with the diagnosis of lead poisoning by polarography method using the 746 Metrom Polarographic Device. The polarographic apparatus consists of three electrodes. Includes work electrode(HMDE), Auxiliary electrode(Platinum) and control electrode(Ag/AgCl/KCl 3 mol/l).[1]In this way , the potential is applied to the work electrode and the lead pb 2+ is reduced to pb, and the resulting flow has a direct relationship with the metal concentration . In this study, After determining the blood level of lead in patients, the accuracy,LOD ,LOQ and linearity of the method were evaluated and the results showed that the above method is an easy, inexpensive and fast methodology than other methods.
