Tele- Rehabilitation based on Mobile Health a New Way to Improve Health Care Delivery

Background: Tele-rehabilitation is one of the subcategory of tele-medicine. Compare tele- rehabilitation with conventional rehabilitation services, shows that tele- rehabilitation can reduce costs and increase effectiveness of the treatment; also, mobile health has positive outcomes for people with disabilities. Objectives: The present study aimed to conduct a review of controlled trials of tele- rehabilitation based on mobile technology interventions to improve health care delivery. Method: This is a type of review article that was done through library studies and searches in valid databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct and IEEE. Result: Studies indicate that tele-rehabilitation for patients with speech disorders increased the efficiency and effectiveness of the cost of providing services. In addition, it reduced the travel time, waiting time and fatigue of patient. Also, this technology is effective in the following: 1- In the short-term treatment of patients with spinal cord injury 2- In rural communities to treat people with chronic diseases 3- Treatment of common diseases such as asthma in children and adolescents. Furthermore, studies showed that performance and pain improved in patients with knee osteoarthritis after 6 weeks and 80% of patients said that they would use this technology in the future. This technology improved the accuracy of the results and increased the follow up timely of patients. Conclusion: The use of this technology seems essential for people with disabilities because of lack of rehabilitation specialists and lack of proper distribution of specialists in all parts of the world.
