Smartphone Application for the Care of Women during Pregnancy in Iran

Background: Mobile phone technology combined with medical specialties, has introduced new features to namemHealth. With Mobile healththe traditional way for health care delivery and former notions of concepts such as Service Providers, patients, health care delivery and lifestyle has changed Because of the phenomenon of pregnancy and physiological changes that associated with pregnancy, many of smartphone application has designed for this aim. Objectives:This study aims to present a picture of the current state of smartphone apps s marketfor the care of women during pregnancy in Iranwere done. Materials/Patients and Methods:Between September until October of 2016, medical Categories in café bazar’s website (for Android OS) and Sibche website (for the operating system iOS)Google Play (for Android OS) and IranApps has review and applications designed for the care of women during pregnancy in Iran were identified in Farsi. Finally, the attributes associated with these applications with Microsoft Excel 2010 were evaluated. Results: The results showed that 55 apps from the café bazar were assigned tothe care of women during pregnancy, on IranApps and Google Playan app dedicated to the care of women during pregnancy and on Sibche website were not found any app about this issue. Among these application, 46 (80.70% application was about meet the pregnancy, maternal nutrition, exercise useful during pregnancy, fetal sex determination and comparison of vaginal delivery and caesarean section. Only 11 (19.29%), app was about, calculate the remaining days of pregnancy, delivery date and pregnancy test. Among Of these 57 applications, 10 apps (17.54%) were for sale and 47 apps (82.45%) were free. Conclusion:Limited number of Iranian applications in the field of the care of women during pregnancy and the important of mother and fetus health in pregnant women are not considered. And most of apps have duplicate content Also, due to the complications of Caesarean section delivery and benefits of vaginal delivery on the mother and fetus, in this file more apps design is needed.
