Background: Bioinformatics has been called the key knowledge of the 21st century. Biological sequences include DNA, RNA and Protein. Matching of the biological sequences is very critical in bioinformatics since it provides the possibility of rapid analyzing of the patient s genome and so potentially dangerous mutations can be detected and effectively treated. This paper proposes an application for the Android OS which has the capability of the genes matching and can send the matching results to a web-based server. Objectives: The objective of this research is to propose a bioinformatic Android-based application for the mobile phones so that the dangerous muted genes can be detected and the treatment can be started in the initial stages of the disease. Methods: This study is an applied research proposing a biomedical Android-based App. The proposed app can match the given biological sequence with the search pattern and determine the matching score. It also has the feature of connecting to the databases through the internet and sending the results to a web-based server. Results: The developed application makes the smart mobile phones more useful in the field of Bioinformatics and can make it possible to detect dangerous gene mutations in shorter time intervals. Besides, since the results of the analyses can be sent to a web-based server, they can be utilized for identifying unknown genes using the previously known genes, and also for the appropriate treatment and producing or optimizing the appropriate medicine.
Conclusion: Utilizing of mobile health in medical science and especially in the diagnosis of diseases and complicated genetic problems is advancing. This technology can lead to speeding up the detection of dangerous muted genes and a faster and more successful treatment for them. maximum 5 words separated by comma.
